This Privacy Policy explains how AutoRecap.ai ("we", "us", "the Service") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services at autorecap.ai.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares (name and email). We never see or store your password when you use Google Sign-In; email/password credentials are handled by our authentication provider.

Content you process. Transcripts you compile, audio files you upload for transcription, summaries generated for you, and recaps you save to your history are stored so the Service can function and so you can access your past work.

Billing information. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store only your subscription status and Stripe customer reference.

Usage data. We record usage events (such as the number of summaries generated) to enforce plan limits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service: generating transcripts and summaries, saving your history, enforcing plan quotas, processing subscriptions, and responding to support requests. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your content to advertise to you.

3. AI Processing

To generate transcriptions and summaries, the content you submit is processed by established third-party AI infrastructure providers under their business terms, which prohibit those providers from using your content to train their models. Processing is automated; our staff do not read your content except where necessary to resolve a support issue you raise.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of service providers to operate: cloud hosting and content delivery, a managed database and authentication provider, Stripe for payments, and AI processing providers as described above. Each receives only the data required to perform its function.

5. Public Content Caching

Transcripts of publicly available YouTube videos may be cached in anonymized form (not linked to your account) to speed up processing for all users.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your saved recaps and account data are retained while your account is active. You may delete saved recaps at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and associated data entirely, contact us via the contact form on our website and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use only essential browser storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your workspace state. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to production systems is restricted and credential-protected.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form on our website.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
